Commonly known as Rongalite, this is a Technical Grade powerful reducing agent. It is highly stable at room temperature but releases sulfoxylate radicals at elevated temperatures, making it ideal for controlled reactions.

The product features high purity (min 98%) and is primarily used in discharge printing on textiles. It ensures sharp patterns and excellent color removal without damaging the integrity of the base fabric.

In the polymer industry, it acts as a redox catalyst in emulsion polymerization. It allows for the production of synthetic rubber and resins at lower temperatures, enhancing product quality and process efficiency.

Sodium Hydroxymethylsulfinate
  • Textile Printing: Used as a discharge agent to remove background colors and create intricate white or colored patterns.
  • Polymerization: Functions as a reducing component in redox initiator systems for SBR and ABS plastics.
  • Redox Titration: Employed in specialized chemical analysis as a stable reducing reagent.

Classified as Suspected Mutagen and Toxic to Reproduction. Handle with Respirators, Safety Goggles, and Protective Aprons; avoid contact with acids.
