Docusate sodium (C₂₀H₃₇NaO₇S) is an anionic surfactant functioning as a stool softener and emulsifying agent. It lowers surface tension, allowing water and fats to penetrate materials efficiently.
Docusate Sodium
Used in pharmaceuticals as a laxative and wetting agent, in cosmetics as an emulsifier, and in industrial cleaning products for dispersing and solubilizing oils.
Generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for regulated use. Avoid dust inhalation and prolonged exposure to heat.
Supplied in 25 kg fiber drums or HDPE containers. Store sealed in cool, dry conditions, away from light and moisture.
