Cobalt Acetate (CAS 6147-53-1) is the cobalt(II) salt of acetic acid, commonly supplied as the tetrahydrate, a reddish violet crystalline solid that acts as an oxidation catalyst in terephthalic acid production and as a paint drier in oil-based coatings. It is essential for the production of terephthalic acid (TPA), the primary feedstock for polyester resins.

In the coatings industry, it acts as a high-efficiency paint drier, accelerating the curing of oil-based systems. Its high purity ensures that finished paints achieve optimal durability and hardness without surface defects.

This magenta crystalline salt is also utilized in electroplating and ceramic pigmentation. Its excellent solubility in water and acetic acid makes it a versatile reagent for high-performance industrial catalysts.
