Aluminum Monostearate (CAS 7047-84-9) is a metallic salt of stearic acid supplied as a fine, white to yellow-white powder that gels oils, thickens and stabilizes emulsions, and forms films, making it useful in pharmaceutical gels, cosmetic creams and specialty printing inks. Our Pharma/Cosmetic Grade product features high purity and strict control of heavy metal impurities.
This fine, white powder is exceptionally effective at thickening oils and stabilizing emulsions in creams and ointments. It creates a smooth, non-greasy texture and is valued for its film-forming capability, which enhances the moisture barrier on the skin.
In industrial applications, it serves as a dispersing agent for pigments and an additive to improve the consistency of specialized inks. Its amphiphilic nature allows it to bridge the gap between oil and water phases in complex chemical systems.
