Calcium Molybdate (CAS 7789-82-4) is an inorganic calcium salt of molybdenum supplied as a white crystalline powder, valued for its low water solubility, which supports long-lasting corrosion inhibition in coatings and lubricants, smoke suppression in rubber and plastic compounds, and load-bearing performance in greases. The material serves as a specialized industrial lubricant additive , improving the load-bearing capacity of greases in automotive applications. It is an environmentally safer alternative to chromate-based corrosion inhibitors in metal finishing. This inorganic salt also finds use in the production of molybdenum-containing alloys and specialty glass. Its thermal stability makes it an excellent choice for high-temperature refractory applications and ceramic glazes.
