Tetrapotassium pyrophosphate (TKPP), also known as potassium diphosphate tetrabasic, is a white granular solid with formula K4P2O7 and molecular weight 330.34 g/mol. Density 2.53 g/cm³, melting point 1109°C, highly soluble in water (187 g/100mL at 25°C), forming alkaline solutions; insoluble in alcohol; produced industrially, nontoxic.

Applications
Used as buffering/chelating agent, ionic dispersant for low viscous solutions; in food as emulsifier, preservative, humectant, thickener; ionic dispersant for low viscous solutions; in fertilizers, detergents, water treatment for corrosion; in electroplating, paints, soaps; electrolytic solution for Li-ion batteries, copper nanowires arrays; in poultry processing.
