Benfotiamine (benzoylthiamine monophosphate; CAS 22457-89-2) is a lipid-soluble S-acyl derivative of thiamine (Vitamin B1) with molecular formula C₁₉H₂₃N₄O₆PS and molecular weight 466.45 g/mol. It presents as a white to off-white crystalline solid, density 1.444 g/cm³, melting point 165 °C (decomp.), with greater membrane permeability than water-soluble thiamine salts.
