Distearyl Ether (CAS 6297-03-6), also known as dioctadecyl ether, is a lipophilic ether in Cosmetic Grade that appears as a white, waxy solid and acts as a dry emollient and texture modifier in face creams, sun care and deodorant sticks, where it reduces tackiness and improves spreadability. It appears as a white, waxy solid and is used to provide a non-greasy, velvet feel to creams and lotions.
This chemical is highly stable against oxidation and features high spreadability on the skin. It acts as an effective texture modifier, reducing the tackiness often associated with heavy oil phases.
