Silver Nitrate (CAS 7761-88-8) is an inorganic silver salt that appears as a colorless crystalline solid, is highly soluble in water, darkens on exposure to light, and acts as a strong oxidizing agent used in photographic processing, silver halide production, mirror coatings and antiseptic pharmaceutical preparations. It exhibits high solubility in water and strong light sensitivity, darkening upon exposure.
