Vitamin C Ascorbyl Glucoside (CAS 129499-78-1; EC 603-337-7) is a glycosylated, stabilised derivative of L-ascorbic acid with formula C₁₂H₁₈O₁₁ and molecular weight 338.27 g/mol. Supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder, density 1.83 g/cm³, melting point 158–163 °C, and high water solubility (879 g/L at 25 °C).
The compound releases active vitamin C enzymatically on biological or skin contact, offering markedly greater oxidative stability than free ascorbic acid under standard formulation and storage conditions.
