Vitamin E Mixed Tocopherols (CAS 1406-66-2; EC 604-195-9) are naturally derived, fat-soluble antioxidants extracted from vegetable oils; colorless to light yellow viscous oil. MW 416.68 g/mol; density 0.930 g/mL (25 °C); refractive index n20/D 1.501; bp and flash point >200 °C; log P ~10.7. Commercial concentrations range 50–97% active tocopherols. Designated food additive E306; listed in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC. USP and Ph.Eur. grades available.
