Tributyl Phosphate (TBP), CAS 126-73-8, is an organophosphorus compound of the phosphoric acid ester family that appears as a clear, colorless liquid, and it is used as a solvent and extractant for rare earth and uranium separation, as a defoamer in coatings, and in aviation hydraulic fluids. It is a colorless, odorless liquid with excellent chemical stability and low volatility.

In the mining industry, it is the primary extractant for the separation and purification of rare earth metals and uranium. It serves as a high-efficiency solvent for nitrocellulose, lacquers, and resins.

As an Anti-foaming agent, it is used in industrial paints, glues, and drilling muds to eliminate persistent foam. It also functions as a Plasticizer, improving the flexibility of vinyl resins and synthetic rubbers.
