Bromoform (CAS 75-25-2), also known as tribromomethane, is a dense, non-flammable halogenated hydrocarbon that appears as a colorless to yellow liquid and is used mainly as a laboratory reagent and in heavy liquid separation of minerals by specific gravity. Our Technical Grade liquid is characterized by its exceptionally high density, making it a standard for mineral separation.

In geological research, it is the preferred medium for heavy liquid separation, allowing for the precise classification of minerals based on specific gravity. Its unique physical properties also lend it utility in specialized industrial chemical synthesis.

Historically used as a sedative, its current pharmaceutical application is limited to its role as a synthesis intermediate for more complex brominated molecules. It is stabilized to prevent degradation and maintain high purity during storage.
