Chloromethylisothiazolinone (CAS 26172-55-4) is a broad-spectrum isothiazolinone biocide supplied as a white liquid, typically used in combination with Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) to control bacteria, algae and fungi in aqueous systems, paints, adhesives and cooling water. This preservative solution is highly effective at very low concentrations , making it an economical choice for industrial preservation. It is stable over a wide pH range and is compatible with anionic and cationic surfactants . As a biocidal active , it prevents biofilm formation and spoilage in paints, adhesives, and cooling water systems. It provides long-lasting protection for products during storage and industrial use.
