Vitamin B5 Pantethine is the disulfide dimer of pantetheine, a coenzyme A precursor in the vitamin B5 family, with formula C₂₂H₄₂N₄O₈S₂ and molecular weight 554.73 g/mol. CAS 16816-67-4, EC 240-842-8. Also known as bis(pantothenamidoethyl) disulfide or D-pantethine.

The substance presents as a colorless to pale yellow, clear, viscous liquid or syrup at ambient conditions, with crystals obtainable from methanol/acetone; density approximately 1.19 g/cm³. It functions as a biologically active form of pantothenic acid, playing a central role in acyl-carrier and coenzyme A-dependent metabolic pathways.
