Vitamin B6 Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate (P5P) is the biologically active coenzyme form of Vitamin B6, supplied as a pale yellowish-white crystalline powder with formula C8H10NO6P·H2O and molecular weight 265.16 g/mol. Melting point 140–143 °C; water solubility 5 g/L at 20 °C.
P5P functions as the principal coenzyme in amino acid, glycogen, and neurotransmitter metabolism. Available in Food Grade and Pharma Grade; listed in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC as an authorised source of Vitamin B6 in food supplements.
